Obituary: BURNED TO DEATH. A horrible accident occurred in Delaware township Saturday morning at about eight o'clock whereby the bright and nearly ten year old daughter of Nelson Grogg suffered a terrible death. The little girl, whose parents live on the banks of the Maumee, had gone to the river to fish together with her younger sister. A fire was burning on the shore and the little girl either played with it or casually drew too near to it. At any rate her clothes became ignited and the poor girl did not think of jumping into the river, until every thread of her attire from her shoes up had fallen from her body reduced to ashes. Then in her agony she jumped into the river and when her mother's attention was attracted by the shrieks of the little sufferer, nothing but her head could be seen above the water. Her mother took her from the river and found her body and arms burned to a crisp Dr. Powell was summoned, but the girl was beyond help. She died about four hours after the accident occurred.
