Obituary:

FOUND DYING IN THE SOUTH SIDE CEMETERY. On Sabbath last old mother Gorman, a lady 73 years of age, was found in a dying condition in the cemetery on the south side of the river. The old lady had been boarding at the house of Mr. Eph. Mikley, whose Residence she left Saturday morning, telling the family they should not be worried if she did not come home that night, as she expected to visit the cemetery and would probably stay overnight with friends. On the way she met Undertaker Musser and stopped him, saying: "I am going to die and want you to bury me with my husband." Mr. Musser thought it was the raving of a childish old lady, and he promised her he would. At noon Sabbath day she was noticed in the cemetery by some young girls, and at 1 o'clock in the afternoon she was noticed by Mr. William Parker, who found her in a dying condition, she only breathing a few times after he noticed her. It is believed she was in the cemetery during the whole of Saturday night. The Coroner was notified and had the body removed to the residence of Mr. Mickley, and on Monday held an inquest, when the above facts were brought out. By will Mrs. Gorman left her property, some $600, to Mrs. Mickley. Drs. Haly and Phillips were ordered by the Coroner to make a post mortem examination, and reported as follows: Napoleon, O. Sept. 10. 1883. We the undersigned by order of the Coroner, have made a post mortem examination in the case of Mrs. Frances Gorman, found dead in the cemetery of Napoleon, and from an examination of the body with testimony that we were able to obtain, are of the opinion that death was caused by organic disease of the heart. J. S. Haly, M. D., A. B. Phillips, M. D.
