Obituary: FASSETT -- In Ashtabula, Ohio, July 8, 1881, Mrs. Lucia A., wife of Judge Henry Fassett. Mrs. Fassett was a sister of J. H. Tyler, Esq., and Dr. A. H. Tyler, of Napoleon, Ohio, and some years ago resided with her brothers in Napoleon, and was then known as Mrs. Dr. Williams. While a resident of Napoleon she was engaged for several years as a teacher in the Napoleon High School, and will be remembered by the older citizens, and especially by the scholars who attended the High School at that time. Mrs. Fassett was a highly educated and christian lady, and greatly esteemed by all who knew her. The following is copied from the Ashtabula Telegraph: In the death of Mrs. Henry Fassett, on Friday morning last, the community suffered a more than common loss. During the fourteen years of her residence in this village, she has endeared herself to all who came within the influence of her society and home. Her full share was contributed to the welfare and happiness of the community of which she was a member. To a gentle and amiable disposition, she added much culture and grace of mind, and while she never failed to lift the spirits by her vivacity of manner, her intercourse never left us without benefit from her clear and retentive faculties. Her life was a cheerful and devout exemplification of her profession as a member of the church militant. . While our sympathies are awakened for the bereaved husband and friends, they are mingled with the community for their common loss. She died of paralysis in the 57th year of her age. |
