James Emery, one of our pioneers to this county, died Saturday evening at his home on Washington St. from Bright's Disease of the kidneys. He was born in Montville, Maine, Feb. 6, 1830; moved to Ohio with his parents in 1833 and settled at Defiance. In 1847 he moved to Henry county following the pursuit of farming until 1860 when he moved to Napoleon where he has since resided. He was in the 62nd year of his age. The funeral was held at M. E. church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Campbell officiating.
