On Friday last Lewis Egler, aged about 13 years, son of Henry Egler, of Flatrock township, accidently shot and killed himself. The young lad was out hunting with a shot gun, and when the accident occurred was talking to Mr. Leonhart, who was working on a ditch. He had his gun by his side, and upon raising it up the hammer caught in his pants leg and the gun was discharged, the entire load entering the chin and passing through his head, killing him almost instantly.
