Obituary: DOMER On the 21st of February, 1890, In McClure,? Ohio, of heart disease, Samuel Domer, aged 71 years, 7 months and 29 days. . He came to this county near 50 years ago and located In the forest near the center of Damascus township. By toil and perseverance he changed the forest to one of the best farms of the townshipAs a farmer he was a success; as a neighbor he was kind and obliging; as a township officer he was faithful in the discharge of an duties assigned him, and although for many year a strong Democrat yet principle rose above party. He would not suffer partisan feeling to crush out a sense of right. In his death Damascus township has lost one of it best citizens. The gathering of the people to attend the funeral service was such as was seldom equaled In the township. He leaves one son and one daughter to mourn the loss or a tender father, a companion who knew the value of a true and faithful husband; large number of relatives and friend who learned the value of one so dear to many hearts, but in no respect is his loss more sadly felt than In the church, of which he was for 40 years a faithful member serving in an official capacity for a large part of his Christian life. May his mantle fall upon someone in McClure, that the cause of Christianity may continue to prosper. J.W.M. |
