In Liberty township, Henry county, Ohio, on the 17th inst., Mr. RUSSELL CLAPP, aged 69 years.
The departed has been a resident of Henry county for the last nine years. He leaves an aged and devoted companion, a family and a wide circle of friends and relatives who mourn his loss. But they mourn not as those without hope, for Mr. Clapp was not only a kind and devoted husband, and affectionate father, a man esteemed and beloved, but he was a man of God also. Through many long years of storm and of sunshine, of diverse trials and temptations, his pathway was ever onward and upward. At length grown old and weary, he heard a voice bidding him come where the weary are at rest, and he calmly awaited his Lord's coming. Soon the trying hour of death came; it alarmed him not, for it was his to say, "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." His end was peaceful like as the sun at his setting. We shall see him no more in this dark world, for he has put off the robes of mortality, and has joined that sinless throng in Heaven. Let us follow his example as he followed Christ, that we may meet him again where parting is unknown.
