Dave Calver the idiot who has been an inmate of this place [infirmary] for nearly ten years, died on last Wednesday night, March 7th. This fellow has been an immense lot of trouble for the folks here. This is the same person that Geo. Daum took to the Idiotic Asylum at Columbus, having stopped at a hotel on the route and becoming lots of trouble Geo. gave one of the servants of the hotel five dollars to right matters. Ha, ha, how about that Geo? Of a warm summer day he could be heard hollowing for a mile around, for he was a terrible noisy fellow and of the very lowest type of an idiot, his parents reside about a mile and a half south of Hamler this county.
