Another Pioneer of Monroe Township Gone to Rest

It is with sadness that we chronicle the death of another pioneer of Monroe township in the person of Christopher Busch, who was born in Germany, Jan. 27th, 1820 and died of pneumonia, Feb. 26th, 1894, aged 74 years and 29 days. Mr. Busch was a resident of Henry county for 40 years, and was respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and two sons to mourn his departure. The funeral took place from the German Reform church, of which he was a member, Rev. Shadd officiating, and the remains were interred in the Knipp cemetery. May the Lord help those who are left to so read the pious counsels and imitate the good example of the one passed away, that when one by one they drop from the ranks of life, they may go to join him in the sweet by and by. RIP.

Dearest father, death has claimed thee,
And we bow at his behest;
In that bright celestial city
Now thy spirit is at rest.

Rest dear father sweetly sleeping,
Free from sorrow, free from pain;
Only waiting, only watching,
Till we all shall meet again.

M. S. B.

CARD OF THANKS. We are so thankful to our neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our father and husband. Our hearts are enshrouded in sadness, but the great kindness and tender sympathy shown us by all who knew of our loss and sorrow, is a bright star in the midnight of gloom. We thank you from our hearts.
