Mr. Levi Burns was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, May 20, 1809. He died athis son's residence in Richfield township, March 21, 1882, aged 72 years, 9 months and 23 days. He leaves an aged companion, three daughters, one son, twenty-one grand-children and eight great-grand-children and a host of friends, to mourn their loss. Father Burns made no profession of religion, yet he was in a certain degree a believer in the doctrines of Christ. His last words to his grand-son who waited on him so fondly during his last sickness were: "Oh! my God," using the highest superlative and calling upon Him for divine aid in the last hour of his latest extremity. His funeral was preached in the Lutheran Chapel in Wood county by Rev. D. W. Downey, from Job 14, 10. Peace to his ashes. Joshua, Richfield, O., March 21, 1882.
