A sad affair occurred Sunday afternoon it the canal above this place, near what is known as the old King farm, now owned by Henry Myers. Henry Bunke, a young man working for Mr. Myers, was attempting to learn to swim and getting beyond his depth was drowned before assistance could reach him, no one being with him at the time except some small children. The body was recovered about an hour afterward near the place where he entered the water. Funeral Monday afternoon from the Lutheran Church, interment in Florida cemetery. He was about 19 years of age.
