Obituary:

Brinkman. John Brinkman was born February 1st, 1833, in Bucyrus, Crawford Co., O.; he was aged 66 years, 8 mo., and 20 days, and died October 20th, 1889, of typhoid fever. Funeral services were held in the Reformed Church at Florida, where he was a member for about forty years. He was married to Harriet Shroll, February 26th, 1857, and to these parents were born six children, four daughters and two sons, an infant daughter having gone on before. He leaves a wife, five children and six grand children, of whom five are living, to mourn his loss. Mr. Brinkman was an old resident of Florida, Henry county, ever since the year 1864, having resided on his farm near there for nearly a quarter of a century. He was a good citizen, a firm friend, an honest neighbor, ana ne leaves behind him a legion of sorrowing friends to mourn his loss, for he was a father to the fatherless, and gave a helping hand to those in need and has set a good example to his children and friends.

We miss thee from our home, dear father,
We miss thee from from thy place,
A shadow o'er our life is cast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face.

We miss thy kind and willing hand,
The fond and earnest care;
Our home is dark without thee.
