Obituary: Mrs. Eunice H. Bowers, living in Harrison tp. fell dead Saturday while driving to Napoleon She, with her son and Mrs. Hopkins, had come from the farm in Harrison tp., stopping at the latter's residence in South Napoleon the deceased carrying a basket of peaches in the house for Mrs. Hopkins who is rather aged. The exertion seems to have been to much, for shortly after climbing in the buggy she became faint. The boy called loudly for help when at the school house but no one hearing, drove rapidly down to the 'corners' several rods further. Chas. Boyer promptly assisted the unfortunate woman as his skill directed, but death resulted before she could be removed from the vehicle. She was taken to Mr. Boyer's undertaking and furniture establishment near by and a physician sent for who pronounced her dead. The husband was at once apprised of the affliction who was overwhelmed with grief. The remains were taken to her home Saturday evening, and the funeral held at the Presbyterian church in Napoleon, Tuesday, Rev. Donahey officiating. The deceased was 56 years old, her birthday being on the 30th, the day of her burial. The cause of her death was heart failure. Both she and her husband are old residents in Henry county and widely and favorably known |
