Obituary:

BISSELL -- On Feb. 18, 1883, in Harrison township, Henry county. O.. Mrs. E. Bissell, aged 64 years, 9 months and 15 days. Mrs. Bissell was born in Livingston county, N. Y., settled in the Maumee Valley in 1830, where she remained until death summoned her away. Her first husband died in 1861, Mr. Thomas Stevens, with whom she entered this country and located on the banks of the Maumee where an almost unbroken, forest surrounded them, but with brave hearts and, willing hands they toiled on until the forest was changed to a pleasant home. Very early in life she embraced the Christian hope and united with the church, in which she remained faithful until the Master called her from sorrow, pain and toil, to rest in heaven. Her son, Mr. Ira Stevens, of Napoleon, was summoned at a late hour, but a few moments before he reached home, the spirit of that mother took an eternal flight. Her only brother (the last of four brothers) Mr. Gilman, of Toledo, O., was present at the funeral service with his aged companion. May they all in the sun bright clime. J. N. M. McClure, O., Feb. 84, 1883. [Toledo Blade please copy.]
