Obituary: Henry Binger, a farmer from Freedom township, drove to Napoleon Friday after noon to market a load of corn with little thought of being taken home a corpse. Yet such was his fate. He had unloaded the corn at Vocke's mill and was about to replace the end-gate when he suddenly fell to the ground a shapeless mass of clay. Physicians were at once summoned but life was extinct, the man having died almost instantaneously. Coronor Bitzer was summoned who after viewing the remains pronounced a verdict of death from heart trouble. Such was undoubtedly the cause of his death, although his relatives say that he was never, to their knowledge, troubled with heart failure in any form. The remains were taken to his late home in Freedom township, where nine orphans awaited the return, the mother having died but a few months previous. The funeral ceremonies were held at the Lutheran church in Freedom tp., Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Fisher officiating. Mr. Binger was one of the most enterprising farmers in Henry county and his loss is indeed a severe one to his many children who can ill afford to dispense with a father's care just now, the greater number of them being young. The deceased was 55 years of age. |
