An Old Citizen Dead.

We were pained to learn of the death of Uncle John Biggins, of Washington township, one of the oldest settlers of his neighborhood. His funeral took place on Thursday last, when a large concourse of friends and neighbors paid their last respects to the departed. Peace be to his ashes. Mr. B. moved to this county in an early day, when it was a vast wilderness, and was instrumental in clearing up a large and valuable farm. He helped to build the canal, as did many of our old residents. He came to this county from Ireland, and 54 years ago he married his wife in the green isle, who survives him. At the time of his death he was 78 years old, and was the father of seven children, all of whom are living. He was a respected citizen and stood well among his neighbors.
