Obituary: Death of Judge Beckham. The body of Judge William Beckham was brought here from Petosky, Mich., for burial on Saturday evening. Judge Beckham was formerly a resident of this place, removing to Petosky, Michigan, in the fall of 1880 with a view of bettering the condition of his health, which at that time was poor. Mr. Beckham was born August 26th, 1835, in Licking county, this State, and was married in 1856 to Miss Amanda E. Lemert, and located on what is known as the Beckham farm in this county in 1857, which was then a dense woods. Mrs, Beckham died in 1870, leaving six children, all of whom are now living with the exception of one. In 1872 Mr. Beckham was married to Hellen M. Taylor, a lady and much beloved by the citizens of Napoleon, and who survives him. The funeral took place from the Miller House Sabbath morning. Rev. Donahey officiating. |
