Mr. Alfred Beard, aged 39 years, died at his home on School House street, Sunday morning. He was a victim of Bright's disease which terminated in dropsy. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church, Tuesday Rev. T. H. Campbell, officiating. Mr. Beard was one of our substantial business men, being the senior member of the Beard Electric Light Company. Although a citizen of the town but a few years, such time has been sufficient for him to become popular among all classes. He was a first class electrician, having constructed the electric light plant now in operation here.
