SAD ACCIDENT - On Thursday of last week, an old man by the name of BALLMER, residing in Freedom tp., about 3 miles north of town, came to his death in a sad and sudden way. Mr. B. had got into a wagon to ride for a short distance, sitting down on the tail-board; the horses started up suddenly, when he was thrown backwards to the ground, striking on his head and breaking his neck. He died almost instantly. Mr. B. was about 70 years of age, and his funeral took place on Sabbath.
