Obituary: ANDREW? Adice Andrew, daughter of David and Margaret Brubaker, was born near Florida, Henry county; Ohio, April 1st, 1857, died Sept. 8th, 1888 aged 31 years, 5 months and 7 days. In her 20th year she united with the M. E. church at Florida, of which the was a worthy member at the time of her death. On the 26th day of June, 1874, she united in marriage with David Andrew; by this marriage were born to them three children, two daughters and one son, who with the husband and father are left to mourn. Her sphere of duty for some years was in the home, inheriting a predisposition to consumption. She was in part an invalid and on that account unfitted for hard work. During her illness she spoke of death as a welcome visitor and longed to go to that home where they know no sorrow or death. A short time before she died she expressed a desire to go to rest, and said, 'I'm not afraid. What a glorious and blessed consolation to know that as our dear friends are called one by one from this sinful world, they are home at last free from pain and sorrow.' Her funeral took place at the M. E. church, at Florida, Rev. M. C. Howey officiating; scripture text: 'God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.' Rev. 21st Chap.: and 4th verse. After which the funeral procession took place and conveyed her body to the Brey cemetery. While her soul has gone to join those classmates in that better land, and now sings the songs of the redeemed and, is safely housed where the storms of life cannot reach her, and may He who has promised never to forsake us comfort the motherless children and may they all prove faithful and again meet in that sweet by and by. Farewell, my dear husband and children, Jos. Weibel |
