Obituary:

ANDREW. Alice Amelia Andrew, wife of Henry N. Andrew, was born Aug. 10, 1864, died at Florida, O., Aug. 4, 1887, aged 22 years, 11 months and 24 days; was married to Henry N. Andrew Nov. 9, 1884. In early life this dear sister gave her heart to Jesus and her hand to the church, possessing a meek and quiet spirit, she was fully resigned to God's will. Being of a consumptive or dropsical nature for years, her recent affliction was of several months duration, but her faith in God was precious and firm in the closing scenes of this life triumphant, when death came to her home she was ready, although weak in body she was fully resigned to his will. Alice was a faithful teacher in two Sabbath Schools, the M. E. and United Brethren, and was always at her post of duty when health permitted her to do so. So, thus in the bloom of youth and young womanhood, amid the happy scenes of life, surrounded by many loving friends, she was called from among us and from our Sabbath Schools. God has plucked a bright and precious bud and transplanted her in the garden of eternity. While our schools keenly feels and deeply mourns the loss of her who was so cheerful and ever ready to do what she could in winning the respect of all, we can but feel while we so deeply sorrow at this parting and drop unbidden tears by the vacant seat, that what we keenly feel to be our loss is Alice's great and glorious gain, and that we shall more fully resolve in our heart to make our daily life such that we may meet again where the the thought of parting is never known, and in this sad hour of bereavement we extend our respect and sympathy to her husband, father, mother, brothers and sisters, and all kindred and friends. May the Lord help them all to so heed the pious counsels and imitate the good examples of the one passed away, that when one by one drop from the ranks of life, they may go to join her in the sweet by and by. Her funeral .took; place at the M. E. Church, at Florida, Ohio, the Rev. M. O. Howey officiating, after which her body was conveyed to the cemetery by a large concourse of sympathing friends.

Alice dear we miss you,
Your place is vacant here;
You know we always loved you,
There was none on earth so dear;
We loved your teachings in the past
But your work on earth is over
And you are home at last.
