MEETINGS

May 19, 1997, Monday, 7:00 pm

CHANGE OF PLANS! We will travel to the North Baltimore Public Library (230 N. Main St.) for a program on their collection.

June 16, 1997, Monday, 7:00 pm

Our program will be “Beginning Genealogy” presented by Cecelia Brown, OGS District Representative from Defiance County. Even if you are not a beginner, you may still learn something!

WE ARE PUBLISHING…

Individual and Partnership Traders Record Vol. 1 (1884-1912). This is one of the books we got from the courthouse. It gives the merchant, type of business, location, residence, etc. Also, Mother’s Pension Records (1915-1936). Mother’s name, address, amount paid per month. Cost of each of these books is $3.00 plus $1.50 postage. Obituaries from the Northwest Signal Volume X (1996). Each book is $10.00 plus $2.00 postage.

NO RECORDS DURING CONSTRUCTION

All the offices at the court house will be moved elsewhere by the time you read this. This includes the Recorder, Auditor, Treasurer, Probate Court, Clerk of Courts, and others. If you need to see any records, call ahead to see where the office is now located and if your record is available. As a general rule, old records will NOT be available to the public until renovations are complete. We will attempt to help you with questions during the next year.
