Others included are from Malinta, New Bavaria, North Baltimore, and Deweyville. This will be sold as a two-volume set, with all servicemen’s and women’s names indexed. The second joint Heyman reunion was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Heyman, two miles west of Monroeville, with 603 people present from 11 different states. The meeting opened at the church which the family’s forefathers built, where Rev. Boblinger, a member of the family from CA, gave a talk…. Officers elected were Dan Heyman, Jr. and Flavel Heyman Tiffin, presidents, Miss Ethel Heyman and four assistants for secretary-treasurer … the next joint reunion (will be) in 1947.
A review was given by Calvin Heyman of the first Heyman Historical Assn. and the publishing of 200 books of the Heyman history from the 1931 meeting and the supplement since that time of 52 pages…. The family is descended from three brothers, John George, John William, and William Conrad, sons of Johann Wilhelm Heyman of Kalten Holzhausen, Germany, who came to America in 1848 and settled at Hunts Corners, in Huron County, where they cleared the woodlands, built roads, and established families. The old home farm, still owned by the family, stands on the original site. The boys’ parents came over a year later, remaining in New York state for a short time, then came by boat from Buffalo to Sandusky and from there by foot to the home of their three sons. The brothers built a church on their land in 1866, which is still standing.
