SANEHOLTZ
Our family has a story that Grandpa Frederick H. Saneholtz, owner of Riverside Brickyard in Napoleon, went to Chicago to help re-build after the fire, leaving Grandma at home with their 10 children. The Chicago fire was 1871, their marriage was 1876 and the 10th child was b. 1896. We recently learned there was a fire at the World Colombian Exposition (fair) which was held in 1893 in Chicago (the exposition required 40,000 skilled laborers to construct the buildings) and many structures needed rebuilding. Libby Glass of Toledo built a working glass furnace there in 1893. Were there any workers in Henry County that went to Chicago around 1893 to help build or rebuild the fair?

MITCHELL
Searching for Andrew Mitchell, b. 1798 in Maine. The 1850 census has him living in Henry Co with his wife Esther and children. He is not listed in the 1860 census and is believed to have died during that 10-yr. time. Esther was b. in 1802 in New York. Thank you for any help you can provide.

RUTZ/RUETZ JONES BUSSELL RUSSELL
My maternal grandmother, Freda Rutz/Ruetz of Napoleon, married Joseph D. Jones 13 July 1899 in Napoleon. This appears in the marriage record book. On the 1900 census she is listed as Freda Jones, living with her mother and siblings. On 7 Nov 1901 she marries Albert (Alfred Dennis) D. Bussell, widower, in Napoleon. On the 1900 census He is listed as Albert Russell, harness maker and Freda is listed as a divorcee with a daughter, Henrietta Jones, one year old. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the divorce record for Freda and Joseph? Did they have child support then?

County Citizens (from History of Henry County, Ohio, by W. W. Campbell, pub. 1905)
Millard Fillmore RUSSELL—The subject’s father, William RUSSELL, was bom in Wateiboro Twp, York Co, Maine, July 24,1807, and was the son of Simon and Polly (BATES) RUSSELL In 1817 the family went to New York settling on the present site of Rochester. In 1819 they removed to Geauga Co., OH, later to Michigan, then back to Ohio, and finally, in 1845, coming to Hemy Co., where they entered a claim for government land. William RUSSELL was married on July 13,1836, to Eliza Ann INGRAHAM, who was bom in New York state, June 15,1813. She was descended from Elijah INGRAHAM, who married Sarah IDE early in the 18th century. A daughter. Remember, (one of two named Remember and Comfort) married Zimrood BIENAT, and to them were bom ten children, of whom Agreen was the 5th. Agreen CRABTREE INGRAHAM was bom in Massachusetts May 27,1787, and was married in Seneca Co., Ohio, May 11,18— to Lydia MASON, bom in April 1808, in Windham Co., CN. Of their 9 children, Eliza Ann was 2nd. The RUSSELL family numbered 10 children: Remember, Converse P., Lydia Maria, John Hollister, William Henry, Clement B., Harriet Amelia, Joseph Francis, Melissa Elvira, and Millard Fillmore. William RUSSELL was deputy sheriff of Wood Co., OH, for a number of years and was an enthusiastic abolitionist; taking a part in the operation of the “Underground Railroad.” When the Civil War broke out he wished to enlist; but was refused on account of his advanced age. However, he sent two sons to the front. Converse, who was wounded at Chickamauga, and Henry. He was also school director and trustee of his township for a number of years. His death occurred on June 29,1878, his wife having died in 1869.
Millard Fillmore RUSSELL was educated in the district schools and at Napoleon, finishing in the normal schools at Valparaiso, IN, and at Ada, OH. He taught many years in the public schools of this section, but since his retirement from pedagogical labors he has been quietly living on the old home farm. On January 1,1882, he married Miss Mary FOUTZ, daughter of Simeon and Kate (NEFF) FOUTZ, the latter having been the daughter of Abraham and Lovey (MILLIGAN) NEFF. The subject and his wife have four children: Winnifred, Kate, Ray and Eliza Marie. Kate received a good education and is now engaged as a public school teacher, being considered one of the most successful teachers in the community. Mr. RUSSELL and his family are members of the United Brethren church, while in politics he is a Republican, having served as school director, township assessor and trustee.
