The Henry County Genealogical Society Newsletter is now published bi-monthly. The editor reserves the right to accept or reject any material submitted. The Newsletter is copyright protected, but the Society gives permission for material to be copied for personal research and to other chapter newsletters for their use. Any other use of this material should carry written permission from the Henry County Genealogical Society and acknowledge the source. Annual membership is $10.00.
Meetings will be held monthly or as announced in the newsletter. Publications for sale are listed on the Publications Page.

Video on Genealogical Orientation of the Allen County (Indiana) Library in Ft. Wayne. This library is a wonderful source, but don’t waste time figuring out where to look.
SURNAMES
As usual, our January issue lists surnames being researched by our members. There is also a 1999 membership list which includes names and addresses. For reasons of privacy, neither of those lists will be reproduced on this electronic version of the newsletter.
WE ARE PUBLISHING…
The Henry County Genealogical Society has published 1857 Tax Duplicates. It shows name, description of property by section and township, and chattel taxes. This book contains one of the earliest county lists of names available. Cost is $10.00 plus $2.00 postage and handling.
KEEP IN MIND FOR SPRING CLEANING. . .
One of our members, Suzanne Badenhop, has offered to translate any obituaries found in German newspapers which used to be published in this area. If you have clippings from Deutcher Demokrat (Napoleon) or The Defiance Herald, please let us know at Information Request and we’ll tell you what to do. Any of our officers would be glad to forward copies also. If we get a good response we will be able to publish a collection of the translations, but we haven’t heard from you!

Wurtemburg, Ger 1831, dau of John Geo. & Anna Maria (STOLSER) who came to Crawford Co. 1834. They had Magdaline, Fredericka, Anna Margaretta, Anna Maria, Charles H., John C., Jacob, Jos., and Sarah. FAUVER, Heiro A. b. Lorain Co., OH 1845, son of Walter & Alzina (CORNELL) both b. Steuben Co., NY. The paternal gr-father m. Patience SHEPHERD.
