My maternal grandmother, Freda RUTZ/RUETZ of Napoleon, married Joseph D. JONES 13 July 1899 in Napoleon. This appears in the marriage record book. On the 1900 census she is listed as Freda JONES, living with her mother and siblings. On 7 Nov 1901 she married Albert (Alfred Dennis) D. BUSSELL, widower, in Napoleon. On the 1900 census He is listed as Albert RUSSELL, harness maker and Freda is listed as a divorcee with a daughter, Henrietta Jones, one year old. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the divorce record for Freda and Joseph? Did they have child support then?

Searching for Andrew MITCHELL, born 1798 in Maine. The 1850 census has him living in Henry County with his wife Esther and children. He is not listed in the 1860 census and is believed to have died during that 10-yr. time. Esther was born in 1802 in New York. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Our family has a story that Grandpa Frederick H. SANEHOLTZ, owner of Riverside Brickyard in Napoleon, went to Chicago to help re-build after the fire, leaving Grandma at home with their 10 children. The Chicago fire was in 1871, their marriage was in 1876 and the 10th child was born in 1896. We recently learned there was a fire at the World Colombian Exposition (fair) which was held in 1893 in Chicago (the exposition required 40,000 skilled laborers to construct the buildings) and many structures needed rebuilding. Libby Glass of Toledo built a working glass furnace there in 1893. Were there any workers in Henry County that went to Chicago around 1893 to help build or rebuild the fair?

I am searching for as much information as possible on Peter SIDLE. He was born in Pennsylvania in December 1832, and he died in Henry County, OH in 1906. He married Nancy BOST on June 14,1863 in Henry County, and he served in Co. D, 68th OVI during the Civil War. He and his wife are buried at Hoy Cemetery in Henry Co. I am attempting to establish Peter SIDLE’S ancestry.

Looking for info on Eliza A. HENDERSON (b. 1845) and George W. CROFT; Eliza Ann HENDERSON and  Samuel SWEENY; Josephine HENDERSON (b. 1867) and Francis CROFT  (b. 1862); Josephine HENDERSON and Samuel McSWEENEY.

Particularly interested in whether Eliza HENDERSON m. George CROFT and then later Samuel SWEENY or if these are two different women. I am also interested in the marriages of Josephine HENDERSON. It appears that she was married to CROFT, McSWEENEY, and then CROFT again, but cannot be certain on the basis of current info.

Peter GEIB, Jr. (died 1934) and Dorcas Ann MYERS were married in Columbus Grove, Putnam County and moved to Deshler ca. 1890 where their sixth child was born. Two sons, Jacob Benton GEIB (d. 1929) and George William GEIB (died 1901) never married. They had a restaurant in Deshler. Information on this family would be appreciated.

I am researching the family of Lawrence/Lorenz WESTERMAN/WESTERMANN b. 23 Apr 1808 in Waldprechtsweier, Baden, Germany, son of Barnabus WESTERMANN and Theresia BECHLER. On 4 Jan he m. Cecelia BECHLER, daughter of Johann BECHLER & Maria Eva KOHM. The family arrived at New York on 29 May 1854. Lawrence d. 8 Apr 1894 in Toledo, OH. He is the younger brother of my ancestor. He applied for naturalization in Henry Co. in 1856. His sons Jacob and Joseph served in Co. G, OVI 1862-1865. Children that emigrated were: Jacob b. 22 Sept 1834 Waldprechtsweier d. 16 Oct 1915 Napoleon; Martin b. May 1837 Waldprechtsweier – no information; Joseph b. 27 Aug 1839 Waldprechtsweier m. Geneva ? d. 20 June 1908 Napoleon; Veronika b. 6 Sept 1841 Waldprechtsweier – joined Sisters of the Most Precious Blood in 1868 d. 10 Dec 1885; Theresia b. 20 July 1845 Waldprechtsweier – no information; Anna Katherine b. 27 Nov 1847 Waldprechtsweier in Henry Co. 1870; Maria Eva b. 10 Oct 1851 Waldprechtsweier in Henry Co. 1870.

I am especially interested in finding descendants of Lawrence and his children and would love to share the information I have from Germany on the Westermann family. With the help of Westermann cousins in Germany and France, I have traced my line back to my 9th great-grandfather, Simon Westermann, who d. 1637 in Bischweier, Baden, Germany.

Looking for information on any of the following ancestors: Andrew WALKER born in PA 13 July 1824 died. 22 Mar 1862 in Civil War. Lived in Washington and Monroe Townships by 1850 census. Married to Nancy (FULLER) WALKER 10 Apr 1845 in Wood County. She was born in Fairfield County 17 Nov 1822 and died 23 Nov 1877. She also lived in Damascus Township. They had eight children, including my ancestor, Beecher Ward WALKER born 21 Aug 1857. He married Elizabeth ARNEY in Henry Co. 1886. By 1900 they moved to Oregon.
