Ralph H. Zahrend, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Zahrend, was born in Liberty township near Napoleon, Ohio, December 22, 1897 and departed this life at Springfield, Ohio, May 14, 1930, aged 32 years, 4 months and 22 days.
His life was spent on the farm with his parents until about seven years ago when he went to Toledo to work. Three weeks ago he began work with the Toledo Paving and Asphalt Company. Wednesday morning while working in Springfield, Ohio, he was run down by an automobile, which resulted in his death.
Ralph had a very sunny disposition which won for him many friends. He was always cheerful and happy.
He leaves to mourn their loss, father, mother, and one sister, also one nephew, besides many near relatives and friends who will vary greatly miss him.>

Ralph Zahrend, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Zahrend, a graduate of Liberty Center high school, 26 [sic] years of age, was killed in an accident at Springfield, Ohio. He was in the employ of the Whitmer Paving Company and while corking on a street job he was hit by a passing truck, death resulting almost instantly. Segrist’s ambulance brought the remains home.
