Ralph Earl Young, a prominent and well known young man of this place, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Young, near here, Tuesday afternoon.
Ralph was born in Toledo in 1901 and was therefore at the time of his death in his 23rd year. His boyhood days were spent in Toledo, but his parents returned to this place, where they had formerly resided, about ten years ago and Ralph entered the Liberty Center High School, from which he graduated with the class of 1919. After graduating he entered the employ of the Liberty State Savings Bank, first as accountant and then as assistant cashier. He continued with the bank until about four months ago when he resigned his position to enter the employ of the Pennsylvania R. R. as fireman, railroading having been his ambition. He had been firing for only two months, when he was taken with typhoid fever. He was ill for a week at his home in Toledo and then was brought to the home of his parents. Here he fought a game fight for life and at times it was thought he would win the battle. He was thought to be some improved on Sunday, but Monday he became worse again and died Tuesday afternoon.
Deceased was married to Miss Ruby Benskin on June 10, 1922, and the happy couple began housekeeping on Damascus street where they resided until moving to Toledo three months ago. They were a very devoted couple and enjoyed the respect of all who knew them, and both had a large circle of friends and acquaintances. The heart of the community goes out in sympathy to the young wife, as well as the father, mother and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at the St. John's Reformed church today (Thursday), and interment will be in in Young’s Cemetery. The sermon will be preached by D. E. Martz with I. O. O. F. in charge.
