Emily Crockett was born in Harrison township, near Napoleon, O., on the 26th day of February, 1863. When about three years old she moved with her parents to Missouri, living there until about the age of ten, when she returned with them to Napoleon, O., where she lived until her marriage, on May 25, 1883, to John A. Wright, of Liberty Center, O. They made their first home in Cleveland, O. Since 1893 they have made their home near Liberty Center, where she died on December 17, 1915.
To Mr. and Mrs. Wright were born four sons and two daughters. These, with her husband, a son-in-law, two grandsons, two brothers and many other relatives and friends, remain to mourn their loss.
Mrs. Wright was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in Sunday School and church work, her Sunday school class acting as pall bearers.
Hers was a truly noble character and her influence will manifest itself for many years. If life is to be measured by heart beats and not by figures on a dial, then she truly lived her full three score years and ten, though they numbered less than fifty-three.
Mrs. Wright united with the M. E. church at Liberty Center under the labors of Rev. C. M. Baker. Nov. 20, 1902, and remained a faithful member and consistent Christian until she was called to the church above.
Deceased was an efficient recording secretary of the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society; a member and helpful worker in the Wimodausis Society and with willing heart and helping hand did her part, faithfully in all their varied activities. She was also a member of the Woman’s Christian Union and her aid was greatly appreciated.
The funeral services were held in the Liberty Center M. E. church Monday afternoon Dec. 20, Rev. J. C. Crider officiating. Interment in Young’s cemetery.
