Ola Belle, daughter of Almyron and Francis Crosby, was born near Sandusky, O., on March 27, 1862, and passed away at her home near Neapolis, O., on Dec. 10, 1952, at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Her parents, five sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
When a small girl, she moved with her parents to a farm near Liberty Center, O.
On Dec. 24, 1879, she was united in marriage with Joseph W. Laver, and seven children came to bless this union. Two died in infancy, and the oldest son, Lloyd, was badly burned and passed away on Oct. 23, 1943, in California, leaving 12 children.
They resided in and near Liberty Center until April, 1906, when they moved to the present home, where her husband passed away on June 11, 1924.
On May 24, 1928, she was united in marriage with Martin Winover and he passed away on Dec. 9, 1941.
In her early married life she united with the United Brethren church at Victory Chapel until she withdrew her membership and united with the Methodist church at Mt. Pleasant.
She helped organize the Ladies’ Aid society in 1913, which was later called the WSCS. She was always active in church and Sunday school, and her home was always open and everyone was welcome.
She leaves to mourn her departure, four children, Della Welsh, Harry C. Laver, Everette V. Laver and Rubie L. Winover. Also three step-children, Mrs. Roy Myles, Mrs. A. D. Hummer, and Wardie Winover; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services were held at Mt. Pleasant church on Saturday, Dec. 13, 1952, at 2 p.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. Louis Haskell. Interment in Young’s cemetery in Liberty Center, O.
