Emma Aurilla Bergstresser, daughter of Andrew and Rohan Bergstresser, was born In Tiffin, Ohio, December 27th, 1860; died at her home in Liberty Center, O., March 27th, 1909, aged 48 years, 8 months, and 1 day. The subject of this sketch moved with her parents to Liberty in 1869. On December 5th, 1877, she was united in marriage to Amos S. Whittaker and with him moved to the state of Texas where they made their home until the death of the husband, when she returned to Liberty Center. During the years of her widowhood she devoted herself to the care of her four children, and giving them all the advantages her means would allow, and lived to see them all grown to manbood and womanhood and all settled in homes of their own except the youngest daughter, Tina, who remained with her mother and cared for her faithfully during her last Illness. On June 2d 1905, Mrs. Whitaker united in marriage to Mr. C. D. Mourer who, with the four children are left to mourn her departure. The funeral services were held at the Reformed church in Liberty Center Tuesday, March 30th, Rev. J. H. Albright officiating. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Interment at Young’s cemetery.
