Doris Whiteman, 102, formerly of Napoleon Township, died Tuesday at Country View Haven.
Born Oct. 9, 1892, in Liberty Township, she was the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Miller) Whiteman.
She was a registered nurse and taught in nursing schools in Ohio and Utah. In 1921, she graduated from Toledo Hospital School of Nursing and in 1935 she received her bachelor of science in nursing education from Columbia University. She was also a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Napoleon and its Women of the Church Group, a life member of the Toledo Hospital of Nursing and American, Ohio and Fulton-Henry District of Nurses Associations.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Young Cemetery in Liberty Center, Rev. Robert Manter officiating.
Visitation will be at the Wesche Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
The family has suggested memorials be made to the H.O.M.E. Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
