Edith West, 84, of Queensbury, N.Y., died Wednesday at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Facility of North Creek, N.Y.
Born Sept. 12, 1913, in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of Henry and Alice (Britton) Makey. On Oct. 5, 1935, she married Alvin West, who preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1981.
She was an employee of the C.T. Corporation System of Manhattan. She was a member of the Beacon Light Chapter #75 O.E.S. of Staten Island.
She is survived by a daughter, Elise Epple of Olmstedville, N.Y.; a son, Alan of Queensbury, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Walter Makey.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held.
The family suggests memorials be made to Parkinson's Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
