Monday afternoon the death angel visited the West home for the second time in three weeks, this time taking the wife and mother, three weeks from the day of the death of the son, Wendell W. West, death coming to her Monday afternoon at 4:15.
Charlotte M. Dushannon was born at Bridgeport, Conn., November 25, 1867, and died at her home in Liberty Center, O., April 10, 1922, aged 54 years, 4 months and 15 days. She was united in marriage with A. G. West, of this place, at Wauseon, O., October 1, 1887, and to this union were born five children, all of whom, except Wendell, survive her and these children, with the husband, mourn the loss of an exemplary wife and mother.
Mrs. West had enjoyed excellent health up until a few months ago when she was afflicted with heart trouble. She was thought to be in a critical condition at the time of Wendell’s death, but she stood the shock splendidly and it was thought that her health was improving. Monday morning she seemed better than she had been for some time. She had walked about the house and at noon partook of food with a relish. About 3:30 in the afternoon her daughter, Mrs. Earl Crozier, who was with her, noticed that her mother seemed very ill and phoned her husband, who left the store and went home at once, and death came soon after he got there.
Mrs. West was possessed of many admirable qualities. She was a good wife and mother and devoted to her home and family to a large degree. She was a member of St. John’s Reformed church, a good Christian woman and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Reformed church, Thursday at 2 o'clock, sermon by Rev. H. L. Burtchin.
