Nelson George Welch June 24, 1925 - Aprll 24, 2002
Nelson George Welch, 76, of Liberty Center died Wednesday evening at Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon.
Born June 24, 1925, in Metamora, he was the son of George and Myrtle (Cave) Welch. On July 4, 1948, he married Mildred Parsons, who survives.
He was a punch press operator at Haughton Elevator of Toledo for 33 years, retiring in 1987. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of V.F.W. Post #6596, Liberty Center.
He is also survived by three daughters, Kathy Browning of Delta, Mary Cramer of Napoleon and Carol Layman of Wildwood, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lee Welch.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Pastor David Bringman officiating. lnterment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, where military honors will be accorded by Liberty Center V.F.W. Post #6596.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Henry County or Henry County Humane Society.
