Thomas Jay Weis, 43, of Ottawa and formerly of Napoleon, died Thursday at his residence.
Born Feb. 1, 1959, in Napoleon, be was the son of the late Robert Weis and Carolyn (Carver) Weis, who survives.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He was a computer network engineer at Rudolph Foods, Lima, for the past seven years. He was previously a manager at the Napoleon Pizza Hut, operated the Wooden Nickel Restaurant, Liberty Center, for two years and at Quadco. He also owned TJ Weis Music and was a composer, performer and publisher of music. He was a drummer for several bands. He received his associate degree from Northwest State Community College.
He is also survived by two brothers, James of Liberty Center and Roger of Napoleon; two daughters, Jill Heitman and Jayne, both of Liberty Center; and a grandchild.<.p>
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pastor Richard Behnke officiating. Interment will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, St. Paul Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
