Obituary:
Marion Weakley was born to Thomas and Mary Weakley August 31, 1842 in the southern part of Ohio. His boyhood was spent in God’s handiwork where he came to know the beautiful side of life. But from this free life he was called to take up the arms of his country and he went forth with the conviction that a house divided against itself could not stand. He was with Sherman on his famous march to the sea and fought in other battles that were decisive in the war.
On January 6, 1867, he was married to Amanda Alspaugh and to this union two children were born, Wilbur Weakley, deceased, and Mrs. Dora Bowers, of Liberty Center. Mrs. Blanche Overmire later joined the happy family, where joy was constantly manifested. He is also survived by a sister and a brother Harrison and Ella Weakley.
Our Brother’s work was wll done and the Master truly can say: Well done good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful in a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of the Lord.
