Carolyn G. Walters, 73, of Bryan, died at 10 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center, Bryan, Ohio. Carolyn was born on Aug. 15, 1935, in Napoleon, the daughter of Donald Sickmiller and Mildred (Sickmiller) Levien. She married Harold Lynn Walters on Dec. 22, 1951, and they were married 26 years. Mrs. Walters was the switchboard operator at the Bryan Medical Group for 14 years, retiring in 2001. Prior to her employment at the Bryan Medical Group, Carolyn was a school bus driver for Central Local Schools for nine years. She was a member of the Ney Church of God where she previously taught Sunday School, served as a custodian and sang in the church choir.
Surviving are one son, Roger L. Walters of Bryan; four daughters, Terri S. (Michael) Balzer of Bryan, Kim C. (Rich) Reed of Bryan, Kelli M. Breininger of Bryan and Toni L. (D.J.) Ogilvie ot Boardman, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Mary Ann) Levien of Gulliver, Michigan; and one sister, Pamela Myles of Liberty Center.
Funeral service for Carolyn G. Walters will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Ney Church of God, 03413 State Route 15, Ney, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Nolt officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, Ohio. Visitation will be held Sunday. April 5, 2009, from 2-7 p.m. at the Ney Church of God. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan. Ohio.
