Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Providence for Arthur Joseph VanDenBerghe, 54, who died at Parkview Hospital, Toledo. Officiant was A. Armbruster, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church. Interment was in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
The Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Monday at the Walker Mortuary in Napoleon, who had charge of the services.
Mr. VanDenBerghe was a farmer and lived at Rt. 1, Liberty Center. He had been a naturalized citizen of the United States for 18 years. His father’s name was Jan Baptist VanDenBerghe and his mother’s maiden name was Philomena Douw.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; five sons, F. Henry of Metamora, Albert of Wauseon, Peter, Lawrence and George, at home; three daughters, Georgette Kniss of Toledo, Godelieve Eggers of Fullerton, Calif., and Rita, at home. Two brothers, Joseph, of Belgium, and John, of Gerald, O.; two sisters, Theresa, of Fullerton, Calif.; Emelie Dewit of Napoleon, O., and 10 grandchildren.
