Jacob 'Jake' W. Tressler, born September 19, 1972 to Sally J. Roach (Smith) and Michael B. Tressler in Toledo, OH, died from complications associated with leukemia, July 21, 1998, at The Ohio State James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. He graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1990, The Ohio State University, with a bachelor of arts in 1994, and was currently attending The Ohio State University College of Law. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in December of 1994 after completing Reserve Officer Training at The Ohio State University. He received many awards and acknowledgements in the military, including being an honor graduate of Artillery Officer Basic School and 1997 lieutenant of the year for his battalion. He was currently serving as a First Lieutenant in the First Batallion of the 134th Field Artillery Regiment of the Ohio Army National Guard.
He is survived by his mother and siblings, Michael and Michelle.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 23, 1998 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home 515 High Street, Worthington, OH and Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 9-4 p.m. at the Wright Funeral Home, in Liberty Center, OH.
