Jacob W. 'Jake' Tressler Sept. 9, 1972 - July 21, 1998
Jacob 'Jake' Tressler, 25, of Columbus and formerly of Liberty Center died Tuesday at Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital of Columbus.
Born Sept. 9, 1972, in Toledo, he was the son of the late Michael and Sally (Smith) Tressler, who survives.
He was a 1990 graduate of Liberty Center High School and a 1994 graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts. He was a commissioned second lieutenant in the U. S. Army after completing Reserve Officer Training and was an honor graduate of artillery officer basic school. In 1997, he was named Lieutenant of the Year for his battalion and he was currently a first lieutenant in the First Battalion of the 34th Field Artillery Regiment of the Ohio Army National Guard.
He is also survived by a brother, Michael of Liberty Center; and a sister, Michelle Ames of Liberty Center.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center, Pastor David Bringman officiating.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wright Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Central Ohio Chapter, 145 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
