Elizabeth Ellen Thom, 85, of Liberty Center, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Henry County Hospital in Napoleon.
She was born Sept. 22, 1917, the daughter of William and Sara (Emahiser) McMaster, in Colton. She married Vance Wesley Thorn on June 21, 1937, and he died July 1, 1995.
Mrs. Thorn was a packager and inspector, working for Napoleon Products for a few years before working for McCord Corporation, in Wauseon, for 35 years. She retired in 1985. Mrs. Thorn was a member of the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, Union Rebekah Lodge #273 of Liberty Center, Harrison Arbor Gleaners, and the former Pythian Sisters Lodge of Liberty Center. She was a Gray Lady at Henry County Hospital.
Surviving are her daughter, Beverly (Robert) Phillips, of Liberty Center; son, Vance Eugene (Suzanne), of Liberty Center; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a step-great-grandson.
She also was preceded in death by a grandson.
The body will be in the Wright Funeral Home, in Liberty Center, after 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Rebekah Services will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor David MacDonald, of the church officiating. Burial will be in Youngs Cemetery, in Liberty Center.
Memorials may be made to the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, the Henry County Hospital Auxiliary, or to the Friends of the Liberty Center Library.
