Thomas F. Thompson was born near Florida, O., March 7, 1855 and died at his home in Liberty Center April 21, 1910, aged 55 years, 1 mo. and 14 days. He was united in holy matrimony to Mary E. Rearick, Feb. 20, 1883, by Rev. Daniel Clark. To this union two children were born. He was a kind son, a devoted husband and loving father. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, one son, one daughter, an aged father and mother, one sister who resides in Mich., two brothers, one residing near Bronco, Texas, the other, H. A. Thompson, at this place, a number of other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Thompson had been in ill health for several weeks, but his condition was not considered serious, and his death, which came suddenly, was a shock to hls friends. He had been for many years in the employ of the Wabash railroad company, was one of the charter members of the Liberty Center Fire Co., and a member of the famous drill squad of that organization.
The funeral was held from the Reformed church on Saturday, conducted by the pastor, interment in Young’s cemetery.
The Liberty Center Fire Department attended thr funeral in a body and made an impressive appearance. They deserve much credit for the honor they showed their dead comrade. At the grave during the burial service a pause was made while they each in turn deposited as a token of love, a flower in the open grave. Sister Thompson and family have the sympathy of her friends and neighbors.
