Sarah Melissa Stevens Thomas was born on May 20, 1851, at Caroline, Tomkins county, New York, and died on Dec. 15th, 1925, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. J. Raymond, at Liberty Center, O., aged 74 years, [smudge] months and 25 days.
when 17 years of age she left New York state and came with her brother to Liberty Center, Ohio, December, 1868, and has made her residence here from that time.
On February 19, 1870, she was married at Damascus, Ohio, to Mr. Richard S. Thomas. He died on September 19, 1916. To this union were born five children, three of home died in infancy. In the year 1879 the Seventh-day Adventist church of Liberty Center was organized and Mrs. Thomas enter the church in that year as one of the charter members. She has always been a faithful member of the church and her interest was shown in the many questions she asked about the meetings being held at the church during her sickness.
The deceased leaves one son, Archie and one daughter, Mrs. L. J. Raymond, both of Liberty Center, one nephew, three nieces and six great grandchildren to mourn.
