When the Wise Men came from the East to find the Christ of God, the Bible tells us that they followed a star. All of us have to follow a light-gleamed star.
Our brother, husband and grandfather Leonard C. Teeters, brought a wonderful new light into the home of James and Esther Teeters on Feb. 26 in the year of 1885 at Malinta, O. His was a new star; one full of life. This life was to shed a light on many people for 75 years, 11 months and 16 days.
The light warmed the heart of the daughter of Homer and Dora Bowers, Floss Bowers. God smiled. They became man and wife in 1913 at Adrian, Mich. Leonard and his wife came to her home town of Liberty Center to make their home.
There God blessed them with a lovely baby girl. They named her Virginia. Leonard, the father, worked as a mechanic. When she had grown he gave her hand in marriage to George Johnson.
Leonard Teeters became a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 618 here. Later in his life he brought his membership from the Christian Church of Malinta to be placed with the membership of his wife in the Methodist Church here in Liberty Center. As the years passed he became Liberty Center’s Park attendant, which position he retained until he was called to enter the door of God's Mansion Sunday morning, Feb. 12.
Brother Teeters would speak to us dear friends, dear wife, Floss, daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and George, sister Myrtle Bliss in Miami, Fla., brother Frank of Oak Harbor, the beloved grandchildren, Douglas, Dianne and Debbie, and to all his nieces and nephews, a simple word: so-long.
