Services wore held Monday afternoon at the Pilgrim Holiness Church for John Tanier, 81, who died of a heart attack last Friday. The Rev. Wayne Goldsmith and the Rev. Ben Awe, of Columbus, officiated. Burial was in Young’s Cemetery.
Mr. Tanier was an employee of the McCully Egg Co. He was a native of Henry County and a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Liberty Center. .
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Albert Linthicum, Napoleon; Mrs. Eugene Ellsworth, Liberty Center; Irene, Liberty Center; three grandchildrn and 10 great-grandchildren.

John Tanier, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tanier, was born Aug. 7, 1870 in New Jersey and departed this life Feb. 21, 1958 at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 21 days, following a heart attack which proved fatal. His wife Bessie Tanier preceded him in death on May 3, 1948 following a long illness.
Mr. Tanier, although a native of Jersey City, NJ, has lived in Liberty Township practically all of his life and many years in the village of Liberty Center, where he was well respected and was hardly a stranger to anyone. Bro. Tanier, not only a fine citizen, also served on Village Council for many years. He was also the oldest member or the the Pilgrim Holiness Church, where he served faithfully in duty and attendance for many years.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lavell Ellsworth, Mrs. Eveland Linthicum and Miss Irena Tanier, all of Liberty Center; three grandchildren, Kathleen Viegel, Columbus; Marion Linthicum and Barbara Kessler, of Liberty Center; one foster grand daughter, Miss Bernadine Neiling of Liberty Center, 10 great grandchildren, relatives and a host of friends.
