Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Fiser Funeral Home, Liberty Center, for Thomas Sumner Tabler, Liberty Center, who died Thursday morning, in St. Vincent's Hospital, Toledo.
Born September 18, 1887, in Fletcher, Miami County, Ohio he was the son of Arza F. and Ella (Johnston) Tabler. His early education was in the Fletcher schools, and he attended Ohio State University. He spent 68 years in the Liberty Center and Napoleon area, where he was a cattle buyer, farmer, and also spent 22 years as superintendent of the Henry County Home.
Mr. Tabler married the former Ethel Dunivan, Detroit, Mich., in 1919 who survives, in addition to a son, John D. Tabler, Sandusky; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Dr. Thomas Tabler, Holgate, in 1964, and a daughter, Ella Johanna (Tabler) Leifer, Liberty Center, 1969.
Mr. Tabler held memberships in the American Legion; the A.E.F. of World War I, which served in France with the 25th Balloon Company, Aero Squadron; and he was past member of the Masons Lodge, Liberty Center.
Reverend' Joseph Burnett of the United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Young Cemetery.
