Funeral services for A. F. Tabler, veteran insurance man in the county, were held it the Methodist church in Napoleon Saturday afternoon.
Mr. Tabler passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home at 4 a. m. Wednesday. He had spent the day before calling in regard to his insurance business.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, Cynthia; three daughters, Mrs. George W. Murray, of Napoleon; Mrs. O. C West, of Bronxville, N. Y.; Mrs. R. B Cragg, of Syracuse, N. Y.; and Sumner Tabler of Liberty Center, and fourteen grandchildren.
Mr. Tabler came to Henry county in 1905 and resided on a farm near Damascus bridge until 1919 when he moved to Napoleon.
A teacher by profession, he was ever interested in school affairs and helped establish the present graded system in the county schools.
After nine years of farming Mr. Tabler was called to secretaryship of the Henry County Mutual Insurance Company, in which office be served until his resignation in January.
He was well known throughout the county and well loved and respected because of his friendliness and willingness to serve others.
He was most active in Republican ranks and served many years as chairman of the county organization.
