Charles D. Slarkey, 90, Liberty Center, died early Thursday morning at Henry County Hospital.
Born in Liberty Center on Dec. 29, 1898, he was the son of Guy and Lucinda (Cramer) Starkey. On July 27, 1921, he married Tille Saul, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 1981.
Slarkey had been a Washington Township farmer and Napoleon Products foreman, retiring in 1979. He attended the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church of Liberty Center and was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth of Napoleon and Jack of Petersburg, Mich.; a daughter, Betty Bruns of Napoleon; three brothers, Cort of Toledo, Carl of Defiance and Woodrow of Napoleon; a sister, Alice Sperry of Napoleon; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Earl, Dale and Ray, and a sister, Elsie Wright.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Paul K. Zimmerman of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church officiating. Intermcnt will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to the Henry County Chapter of the American Heart Association, the church or the Northcrest Nursing Home of Napoleon.
