Lewis ‘Bud’ Spiess, 68, Liberty Center, died Saturday evening at his home.
Born in Liberty Center Dec. 5, 1921, he was the son of Lewis and Blanch (Miller) Spiess.
A World War II Army veteran, he was employed by Champion Spark Plug of Toledo and Napco Plastics Inc. of Napoleon, retiring from both in 1984. He was a member of the Liberty Center V.F.W.
Surviving are a brother, Lloyd “Tam” of Napoleon; and two sisters, Luella Palmer of Kenton, Ohio, and Mary Ernsberger of Liberty Center.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde, Mike, Dale, Dewey and Homer; and two sisters, Lucy Willis and Doris Bargman.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center, Rev. Steve Clymer of the Shiloh Christian Union Church officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be accorded by the V.F.W.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Soldiers & Sailors Home of Sandusky.
